Dr. Oz

Designed for: Logo & Branding

Dr. Oz is most known as the host of the Emmy award-winning television program "The Dr. Oz Show" as well as an Attending Physician at NY Presbyterian-Columbia Medical Center. He has performed thousands of heart operations and has practiced medicine simultaneously with his TV show. As of 2021, he switched gears and decided to put his show on pause as he announced he was running for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania.

He is a new kind of Senate candidate and wanted his new logo and branding to represent that. Oz’s ascent to fame began with frequent appearances on the Oprah Winfrey show, where he appeared as a health expert, before finally getting his own show in 2009. His logo linked his status which gained his name's recognition as well as incorporating his Pennsylvania roots. Oz earned his doctor of medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986 as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

The purpose of his modern logo was to acknowledge his journey and reasoning for campaigning in the 2021 U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania. His logo was inspired by his television logo for brand and name recognition, using the same blocky border structure and font choices. The blue and red coloring were derived from the Pennsylvania flag, honoring his roots and being classical American choices.

Dr. Oz never shied away from telling his patients and audience that you are the key to solving many of your problems. He took his message of empowerment, personal responsibility, and freedom with him to campaign for the U.S. Senate to represent the people of Pennsylvania.
